Editor Profile
Story • Character • Emotion
“When I edit, I move with the footage—following the rhythm of performance, dialogue and picture to ultimately discover the story within the material.”
As a film editor with many years of experience in film and post-production, I am drawn to stories that explore the richness of human experience through character, relationships, humour and tragedy. My work is deeply character-driven, focusing on the emotional journeys that unfold between people and the subtle moments that reveal who they are.
Influenced by a lifelong love of storytelling across film, literature, opera and ballet, as well as an enduring study of music and its structures, I approach editing through rhythm, timing and flow. The cadence of dialogue, the energy of a performance and the movement of a scene all inform the editorial choices I make.
Having learned from some of the most respected artists in picture editing and sound design and mix during my studies at the American Film Institute, I have been equally shaped by the many collaborators I have encountered throughout my career.
Every film, every creative partnership and every challenge in the editing room has contributed to my growth as both an editor and a storyteller. This ongoing exchange of ideas continues to inform my work and fuels my enthusiasm for the collaborative process of transforming raw material into a compelling cinematic experience.
I am drawn to collaborations that view editing as an integral part of the storytelling process—an opportunity not only to assemble a film, but to discover it.
